George Muchai Biography
George Muchai died on 7 February 2015 he was a Kenyan politician and trade unionist. He served as a member of the National Assembly for Kabete Constituency since the 2013 elections. He was a member of the Jubilee Alliance.
In October 2011 George Muchai survived an attempt on his life.
On 7 February 2015 George Muchai was returning from a family dinner when his car was rammed in Nairobi. Several armed persons emerged from the other car and Muchai was shot and killed together with his two bodyguards and driver. A briefcase and two pistols of the bodyguards were stolen. One suspect of the murder was arrested on 11 February.
Hon. Muchai was shot by unknown assailants in Nairobi on February 7, 2015. The constituency has a population of 140,427 and occupies an approximate area of 60.20 km2. Other than being a member of parliament, Hon. Muchai was also the Deputy Secretary General of the Central Organization of Trade Unions in Kenya. According to the Standard Newspaper dated 10th November 2014, Hon. Muchai had alleged that there was rampant embezzlement, misappropriation and mismanagement of workers deductions which translated into 190 million.
