Moses Kuria Biography and Profile

Moses Kuria, the 43-year-old vocal TNA activist is a man who is hated and loved in equal measure for his unrestrained barbs and tirades against the opposition which recently landed him in trouble with the National Cohesion and Reconciliation Commission (NCRC).

Moses Kuria, a strategist for Kenyatta’s Jubilee coalition who has worked alongside him, told Reuters.

He suggested the ICC suspend its ongoing prosecutions against Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto, for two to three years, to allow them to confront a threat to Kenya’s security that the Kenyan leader has called an “international war”.

“The security concerns of the world at this time would better be served by us focusing all our energies on fighting terrorism, and … ensuring the whole of Africa will not be a safe haven for terrorism,” Kuria said.

“Therefore, it will be untenable to have these cases continue,” he added.

Moses Kuria holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Finance & Accounting option, 1993) from the University of Nairobi.

Moses Kuria Career

He says that he started his career with Total Oil in 1994 before joining Standard Chartered Bank as the senior analyst for re-engineering business processes across 11 African countries. He later worked for Al Rajhi Bank in Saudi Arabia, the largest Islamic Bank in the World, as the Project Director for Technology Transformation before joining private consulting practice in 2003.

Political Career

He returned to Kenya in 2007, where he became the Programmes Director for the Party of National Unity during the 2007 campaign, before assuming the role of the spokesman for the expanded coalition. Apart from politics he runs a Media & PR practice.

When contacted for comment on the poll, the PNU Spokesperson Moses Kuria dismissed it as an ODM ploy to hoodwink the pubic. “If you look at what is happening in Parliament, where they have lost the majority, you will understand what is happening in the country,” he said. Mr Kuria said it was unlikely that Raila would score high in the fight against corruption yet two officers from his office recently stepped aside over allegations on corruption.
