Kirigo Ngarau Biography

Kirigo Ngarua grew up in Jerusalem, Harambee and South B areas of Nairobi county. She is the first born in family of two children and her brother is a lawyer. She is a news anchor at Citizen Television presenting power breakfast alongside Willis Raburu.

In however much Kirigo Ngarua says she did not foresee herself being a celebrated anchor, she recollects seeing herself being in the media. Kirigo Ngarua got her inspiration when she was in standard six when she watched CNN’s Christiana Amanpour reporting and saw how she was unbiased

Kirigo Ngarua dream however metamorphosed into the fields of: branding, advertising and public relations, but maintains it remained in the media industry.
When Kirigo Ngarua got to the media Mike Okinyi thought she had what it takes to be a female sports anchor. She did the screen test, but their boss, Farida Karoney thought differently. She gave her the opportunity to be a news anchor.

David Kimaiyo Biography

David Kimaiyo (David Mwole Kimaiyo) was born on 1st July 19,1960. He was the first  Inspector General of the Kenya Police; a position created by the 2010 Kenyan Constitution to replace the position of Police commissioner.

He was also the first Kenya head of police whose appointment required approval by parliament. He retired from the post in December 2014 following a series of killings claimed by Al Shabaab on the Kenyan border of  Mandera town.

After his resignation as the Inspector general of the Kenya Police he was appointed as the Chairman for Kenya Airport Authority which was later revoked by President Uhuru Kenyatta and was replaced by Julius Waweru Karangi.

Tukero ole Kina Nominated to head IEBC

The IEBC selection panel has nominated High Court advocate Tukero ole Kina and Wafula Chebukati for chairman and nine others as commissioners.

The commissioner nominees include Zephania Okeyo Aura, Roselyne Kwamboka Akombe, Professor Abdi Yakub Guliye and Professor Henry Kizito Okola.

The others include Samuel Kimeu, Ambassador Dr Paul Kibiwott Kurgat, Boya Molu, Consolata Nkatha Bucha Maina and Margaret Wanjala Mwachanya

The nominees now await vetting by Parliament before their names are presented to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Selection panel chairperson Bernadette Musundi said the process was guided by commitment to ensuring free, fair and transparent selection.

Musundi said the candidates were assessed for academic and professional qualifications, leadership and integrity, ICT and presentation skills, general knowledge and technical proficiency and competencies.

She said the most suitable people were picked from a list of 15 who applied for chairperson and 748 who applied for the positions of commissioners.

Musundi said the panel also took into account the reports of the various agencies, memoranda received on some of the applicants and their responses to the two.

She said Kina and Chebukati were chosen as they demonstrated the ability to run the IEBC and ensure a credible August 8, 2017 general election.

Musundi praised the panel for dedication and a speedy yet professional process. Other members are Evans Monari, Mary Karen, Tom Mbaluto, Olga Chepkemoi, Peter Karanja, Abdulghafur el-Busaidy, David Oginde and Mohan Lumba.

The chairperson also thanked the Parliamentary Service Commission for providing facilities and ensuring a conducive working environment.

Uhuru nominates Wafula Chebukati to succeed Issack Hassan as IEBC boss

Wanyonyi Wafula Chebukati: President Uhuru Kenyatta has presented to Parliament the names of individuals nominated to head the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Should Parliament approve of the candidates, Mr Wafula Chebukati will become the chairman of the commission, having beaten his fellow Coast-based lawyer, Mr Tukero ole Kina, to the finish line.

Members of the new-look IEBC would include Ms Consolata Nkatha Bucha Maina, Mr Boya Molu, Dr Roselyne Kwamboka Akombe, Dr Paul Kibiwott Kurgat, Ms Margaret Wanjala Mwachanya and Prof Abdi Guliye.

The Selection Panel chaired by Ms Bernadette Musundi had on Thursday last week presented the final shortlist, which included 11 candidates, to the President.

Also nominated for commissioner were Prof Abdi Yakub Guliye, Prof Henry Kizito Okola, Mr Zephania Okeyo Aura and Mr Samuel Kimeu but they did not make it.

The change of guard at the IEBC follows repeated accusations by the opposition against the sitting commissioners on their incompetence in handling the General Election in 2013.

Nyashinski Biography

Nyashinski whose real name is Nyamari Ongegu is a kenyan musician who is a former member of Kleptomaniacs. Kleptomaniax was a music group consisting of three members: Roba (Robert Manyasa), Collo (Collins Majale) and Nyashinski (Nyamari Ongegu).

Kleptomaniax were formed in 1999, when they were still high school students at the Nairobi School. The group joined the Ogopa DJ’s label and released their first single, “Freak It” in 2002 and was followed by “Maniax Anthem” and “Haree.” They were picked by Ogopa DJ’s while still in school.
In 2004 the group released another single “Tuendelee”, which became their biggest hit so far. The song was written as a response for the “Diss track” by various hip hop musician (including Bamboo), who criticised the commercial Kapuka music style performed by Kleptomaniax among others.

Their debut album M4E (an abbreviation for Maniax Forever) was released in 2005. After 2007 the group had a break while their members engaged in solo projects. The group has since made comeback, but have left Ogopa DJ’s.

After ten years he came back with a major hit song ‘ Now You Know’. He also did a gospel song ‘Mungu Pekee’ which is a hit song. He collaborated with Trey songz in the coke studio

Harun Mwau (John Harun Mwau) is was born on 24th June 1948 in Thika. He is a kenyan businessman and politician. He is a former member of parliament for Kilome constituency.

Gerald Langiri Biography

Gerald Langiri was born on 29th July 1985. He is a kenyan actor and casting director. He is popularly known for his role in the 2013 comedy, House of Lungula.

He pursued a bachelor’s degree in Computing and Internet Systems from the University of Huddersfield and has worked in the Information Technology Sector where he as employed as an IT Billing Manager in a telecommunications company.

Ida Odinga Biography

Ida Odinga (Ida Anyangoo Oyoo) was born in 1950. She is a Kenyan businesswoman, activist and educator. She is the wife of Raila Odinga, the former Prime Minister of Kenya.

In 1974 she graduated from the University of Nairobi with Bachelors degree  of Arts from the University of Nairobi. She worked as a teacher for more than twenty years after graduation.

Wambui Kamiru Biography

Wambui Wamae Kamiru was initially married to Joseph Kinyua in 2007. They were blessed with two lovely twin girls. She filed for divorce accusing her husband of domestic violence through her veteran family lawyer Judy Thongori.

In a quick rejoinder, her husband also filed another divorce case accusing her of infidelity. Bob Collymore was named as a respondent in the divorce case but he claimed through his lawyer that he met Wambui when she was divorced.
